Leah is a funny, spunky teen with a true love of animals of all kinds, who has a particularly long-standing obsession with all things horses! She dreams of horseback riding, can’t get enough of horse movies and horse related books and if she had one wish it would be to own all the horses in the world. Though thoughts of horses preoccupy much of her time, this well-rounded girl also loves reading anime and James Patterson novels; listening to music; and hanging out with friends watching a scary movie with a bowl full of Takis! Staying involved with sports like soccer, volleyball and basketball help Leah get all her energy out in a positive and fun way.
Leah describes her dream weekend as a trip to the mountains for hiking, fishing, camping and you guessed it....lots and lots of horseback riding! With a goal of one day competing in riding events, she's after all the practice she can get! Leah is hoping for a family who likes to travel and do fun family things like going to arcades and amusement parks. Though school isn’t her absolute favorite thing, Leah works hard and is excited about the idea of going to college and wants to major in Communications, and of course, train horses on the side.
Leah’s Permanency Team is in search of a two-parent family with no other children, or possibly an older child in the home. Leah has been working hard on processing her past trauma and on gaining healthier coping skills. A family with significant trauma knowledge and/or training will really help her to thrive as she moves forward in her life. Leah needs a family who can also value and support her ongoing relationship with her biological siblings.
Leah is intelligent, quick-witted, bold, brave, and resilient! She truly has so much to offer a family and is looking forward to a fresh start where she is surrounded by all the love and commitment she deserves. If you’ve been waiting for a horse-loving, fun, bubbly jokester to join your family, Leah may be just the girl for you!
