Our program utilizes volunteer photographers to assist us in photographing the children we serve so that they can feel proud of the photos that accompany their online profile.
Idaho Wednesday's Child is unique because we partner with the Reel Hope Project to provide our youth with a production day they won't forget. This special day involves staff engaging in a fun activity aligned with the youth's interests and personality.
One of the ways that we make “Filming Day” special for our kids is by providing them with a gift of some sort on the day of their production. The program is always in need of folks who wish to help out by donating toys, books, art supplies, gift cards, snacks, and other fun items in order for us to make gift bags for the children we serve.
Wednesday’s Child news production days could not occur without the generous partnering of local businesses in our communities who donate their time and allow our children to come to their venue and participate in fun activities while their news segment is being filmed.
The Reel Hope Project’s mission is A Forever Family for Every Child. They accomplish this by creating professional and personalized two-minute profile videos (reels) for children and teenagers in the foster care system who are awaiting an adoptive family. Each reel is provided free of charge and serves as a critical supplement to the otherwise limited information available to prospective adoptive families.
Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota - The Reel Hope Project team is active in a growing number of states, including Idaho! They travel to reach waiting kids all across each of their focus states.
Given the nature of recruitment services, their team serves many teenagers, sibling groups, and youth with higher needs. The power of storytelling has proven to be substantial, and to date, over half of the youth featured in a Reel Hope Project video have been matched or adopted!
