This is Kaunir, a very curious boy who may be a little shy when you first meet him. Once he's comfortable though, his thoughtful personality and sense of humor begin to shine. Kaunir has a wonderful way of noticing details that many people overlook. He loves to share facts about insects, everything from honeybees and birds to roly-poly bugs, lizards, and sand bugs. Kaunir is very adventurous and loves to explore. He’s always happiest when he's outside discovering something new! Kaunir is incredibly observant and enjoys figuring things out. On a recent walk, he quietly noticed a gift brought for him and asked if it contained the art supplies he’d been talking about wanting. Moments like these reveal how carefully he pays attention to the world around him and how much he enjoys putting the pieces together.
Creativity is another important part of who Kaunir is. Art is his favorite subject in school, and he especially enjoys drawing with markers, though he was genuinely amazed by a set of professional charcoal pencils he received. He loves sketching whatever inspires him in the moment and enjoys studying artwork, even if he doesn't always understand it. One of his funniest recent questions was wondering how an abstract artist could paint a simple square and sell it for so much money! Kaunir also has a playful side. He enjoys telling jokes and believes one of his greatest strengths is his memory. Those who know him best describe him as funny, and it's easy to see why. He likes making people laugh and finds joy in simple things, like watching funny animal videos from America's Funniest Home Videos. Kaunir loves playing cards; riding his bike; playing video games and watching Anime. Animals are another topic Kaunir enjoys. He likes pets and has thoughtfully concluded that while cats may be a little lazier than dogs, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's another example of how he tends to observe the world and form his own opinions with quiet confidence.
Kaunir is a bright and inquisitive young person who enjoys learning, exploring, creating, and sharing what he discovers with others; which makes spending time with him a memorable experience. Kaunir’s Permanency team is open to considering any type of family make-up. They would especially love to find an active, fun family for him who is Native American, or a non-Native family whose willing to engage in and support his cultural heritage. If Kaunir sounds like he could be a great match for your family, we encourage you to inquire today to learn more about this special boy!
The Idaho Wednesday's Child Program prioritizes the safety and security of children, above all else. In an effort to protect the safety of the youth we serve, our process requires families to possess a current, approved adoption home study. Only families with a current home study can view youth's full profiles with videos and photos and submit inquiries, on the Secure Gallery Page.
