This adventurous young teen is super excited to take vacations with his Forever Family to far off places. Visiting Canada or taking an Alaskan cruise are currently at the top of his bucket list! It’s not ALL about the fun aspect though, getting to know Alaskan waters could prove very beneficial to Owen when he gets older and applies for his dream job as an underwater welder! Owen has many other skills and traits that are going to help him reach his life goals, including his willingness to lend a helping hand or a listening ear when others are in need and his passion for finding ways to make people laugh! Owen is most likely to thrive and be his best self in a family that enjoys the outdoors and having fun; while also providing him with plenty of structure, patience, and clear expectations. Caregivers skilled in understanding the effects of grief and loss, as well as complex childhood trauma, will be key to assisting Owen with continuing his journey of healing past hurts and moving forward towards the incredible future he dreams of having for himself.
Owen describes what he hopes to have in a family as consisting of both a mom and a dad, who live in a town or city as opposed to living in a rural area. He’s open to the possibility of having siblings but is self-aware enough to know that he can sometimes get overstimulated, so he feels that a home where he might be the only child could be a really great match for him! Owen gives his best effort, even when things don’t come easy to him. When it comes to his studies, he reports that he’s great with numbers and really enjoys Math in school, however he does struggle in other areas academically. Owen needs caregivers who will commit to continuing to provide him with community services that will benefit him and who will also become very strong educational advocates for him so that he can continue to be successful.
